11 Members of Parliament asked a question about Loss of BSNL and MTNL and also the Debts of the two companies during the last three years. Shri Manoj Sinha, Minister for Communications has given the reply. The official figures supplied by Minister are as:
LOSS of BSNL in 2014-2015: 8234.8 Crores
LOSS of BSNL in 2015-2016: 4875 Crores
LOSS of BSNL in 2016-2017: 4786 Crores

Indian Telecom Industry is in crisis. Few months back, the mighty TATAs sold its Mobile Teleservices to Airtel for free. Now, Reliance JIO of elder brother Mukesh Ambani is acquiring some assets of RCom of young brother Anil Ambani.
It is reported that RCom has a debt of more than Rs. 45000 Crores. By selling some of its assets the Company can reduce its debt to Rs 25000 Crores.
Two brothers started jointly with blessing of father Dhirubhai Ambani. After death of the father the brothers split. Now they are joining together. JIO will become the deciding powerful player in Indian Telecom Industry.
The two brothers can decide their business. What about BSNL and MTNL? Who will bail out them? The Government has to decide. Or will the Government succumb to the pressure tactics of Private Telecos like JIO?
2018 is Crucial….
